Lander's Community College

Central Wyoming College’s Lander Outreach provides valuable educational opportunities through college classes, academic programs, and community enrichment opportunities. Our offerings cater to both degree and non-degree seeking students, with comprehensive programs across various disciplines, including our acclaimed Outdoor Education and Recreation programs, situated just outside of the picturesque Sinks Canyon at the Alpine Science Institute. For those seeking flexibility, we also provide a range of online degree programs. Immerse yourself in education amidst the breathtaking surroundings of Sinks Canyon, where we also offer student housing, making it a truly inspiring and unique academic experience.

Two Lander Locations

Between CWC Lander and Alpine Science Institute, we offer a wide array of courses designed to fulfill nearly all general education requirements, as well as degree requirements for the programs based out of the outreach center, in addition to various other degree programs offered throughout the CWC service area.

CWC Lander

Nestled just outside downtown Lander, our CWC Lander location is a hub of learning excellence. Here, we provide a diverse range of credit programs, community enrichment courses, and opportunities for Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency (HEQ) courses.  This space includes a student lounge, faculty offices, computer lab, and all student support services.

The Alpine Science Institute

Venture into the foothills of the Wind River Mountains, near the captivating Sinks Canyon State Park, and discover the Alpine Science Institute. As a dynamic living and learning field school tailored to fit the unique educational needs of our studentsfor Outdoor Education students, it serves as an ideal launching pad for enthusiasts of outdoor recreation, environmental science, and regenerative agriculture. Engage in experiential learning surrounded by the natural beauty that inspires both education and adventure.

CWC Lander
CWC Lander offers traditional classrooms, classrooms with Zoom technology, computer lab, biological science lab, container farm, as well as testing and study spaces. A greenhouse will be added to the campus in the Fall of 2025.
A Hub for Student Support
CWC students can visit CWC Lander for assistance with admission, financial aid, college placement tests, test proctoring, advising and course registration. Students can also take classes at CWC Lander to obtain their High School Equivalency (HISET).
Gateway to Recreational Opportunities
Just six miles from downtown Lander is Sinks Canyon State Park, the Shoshone National Forest and wilderness areas. World-class rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking are right in our backyard.
